JOIN THE PSORIASIS

COMMUNITY

Psoriasis is an inflammatory skin condition that affects nearly 8 million American adults. It is associated with a higher risk of heart attack, stroke, and depression. The immune system, environmental factors, and family history can all play a role in a person’s likelihood to develop psoriasis.

For people living with psoriasis, inflammation or flare ups can be a consistent part of life. Instead of creating new skin cells, a psoriasis patient’s skin develops excess skin cells, at a rate up to seven times faster than the typical person. Because of this buildup, psoriasis patients experience plaques and scales visible on the skin. Work with an Aila Health coach to see the role that inflammation plays on your skin to develop a holistic plan to manage it.

Anna Chacon, MD

Aila Health's Expert Dermatologist.

Dr. Anna Chacon is a board-certified dermatologist who has a passion for helping patients resolve their dermatologic conditions from the comfort of their homes. She is also one of the few dermatologists licensed in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

If you don’t live in one of those states, stay tuned, as she is in the process of expanding her licensure to service all 50 states and U.S. territories where dermatologists often don’t exist.

Through tele dermatology, Dr. Chacon hopes to improve the access to dermatology care for patients who are geographically isolated, in rural areas, uninsured, or simply too busy to wait many months or travel elsewhere to see a board-certified dermatologist for an urgent dermatological issue.
